📱 NEW: Home Screen Widgets
CellInfo can now live on your home screen. Three new widget styles give you a live at-a-glance view of your cell signal without opening the app.
- Slot 1 Widget: Displays your primary SIM’s carrier, network type (4G/5G), signal strength in dBm, cell details, and current frequency band.
- Slot 2 Widget: The same view dedicated to your second SIM — perfect for dual-SIM devices where you want to keep an eye on both lines separately.
- Dual SIM Widget: Shows both SIMs side-by-side in a single wider widget. The second SIM section automatically hides itself if no second SIM is active.
A note on how widgets work: Due to Android’s background data restrictions, the widgets only update whilst CellInfo’s monitoring service is running. When monitoring is active, data refreshes continuously. When stopped, the widget displays an “Offline” status. This is an Android platform policy, not a limitation of CellInfo.
🔧 NEW: Widget Settings & Customisation
A new Home Screen Widgets card in the Settings tab lets you tailor exactly what each widget shows — and add them to your home screen without digging through launcher menus.
- Show Header/Footer: Toggle the title bar, Active/Offline status badge, and the last-updated timestamp at the bottom. Turn it off for a cleaner, more minimal look.
- Show Cell Details: Toggle the carrier name and cell information row.
- Show Band: Toggle the frequency band and MHz display row.
- Add to Home Screen buttons: Tap Slot 1, Slot 2, or Dual to pin any widget directly — no need to long-press your home screen and hunt through the widget drawer.
Changes to any toggle are reflected on your live widgets immediately.
🔔 IMPROVED: Notification Now Shows Network Code
The ongoing notification in your pull-down shade now includes the active SIM’s network identifier alongside the carrier name — for example, O2 (234-10) — so you can confirm which operator and network slice you’re connected to at a glance.
Faster SIM switching, smoother shutdowns, and a Dash view that’s ready when you are.
