Cellular Signal Mapping & Logging

The Signal Map is CellInfo’s core visualization tool, transforming complex signal metrics into an intuitive, geographic view of your mobile network coverage.

It’s essential for finding dead zones, identifying the location of cell sites, and validating network performance over distance

Real-Time Drive Testing and Logging

When you activate REALTIME logging, the map updates automatically and instantly, providing a dynamic “drive test” view of your current signal strength and quality as you move.

Data points are color-coded based on specific signal strength ranges (Excellent ≥ -80 dBm to Poor < -101 dBm), allowing you to immediately visualize coverage quality along any path you travel.

This feature is perfect for actively monitoring performance and optimizing antenna placement in a home or office.

Historical Data Review

The Signal Map also serves as a powerful forensic tool. You can load in supported CSV files of previously collected data, allowing you to visually look back at historical coverage data.

This is crucial for comparing network performance between different locations, times, or devices without needing external GIS software.

Detailed Cell Information on Demand

Every data point logged is interactive. By clicking on a map pin, you can instantly display a detailed information box containing the full network context captured at that specific location and time, including:

  • Cell ID and eNB:ID/gNB:ID (The identity of the cell sector and the base station).
  • PCI (Physical Cell ID) (Crucial for LTE/5G identification).
  • MCC/MNC (The carrier network details).
  • Band (The specific frequency band used).
  • Signal Strength (The precise dBm value recorded).
  • GPS Coordinates (Exact latitude and longitude of the data point).

This click-to-view detail ensures that every data point on your map provides complete, actionable network intelligence.

Logging & Precision Export

CellInfo allows you to record live network data with high-frequency updates. Once your session is complete, you can export your findings for external analysis:

  • Detailed CSV Export: Save raw signal metrics including RSRP, RSRQ, and SINR for use in spreadsheet software.
  • Tower Location Data: Log MCC, MNC, LAC, and Cell ID along your route for coverage verification.
