🏷️ NEW: Mast Names
A brand new feature for all users — assign friendly names to the cell towers you connect to, and let the app automatically track signal history in the background.
- Name Your Towers: Give any tower a memorable label (e.g. “Home Mast”, “Office Tower”) so you can recognise it instantly across all app screens.
- Automatic Signal Tracking: While Mast Names is enabled, the app silently records signal readings for each tower — no manual effort needed. (Weakest signals are logged for future use).
- Signal History: Each tower entry shows the strongest recorded location, signal strength in dBm, and the Online Database position from OpenCellID if searched.
- Dash View Integration: Your custom tower names are now visible directly on the Dash View screen, allowing you to identify the specific mast you’re connected to at a glance.
📍 NEW: Distance Sorting & Local Filter
Find the towers closest to you with a single tap.
- Sort by Nearest: Tap the Nearest chip to sort your saved towers by distance from your current GPS position — shown in miles (UK/US) or kilometres depending on your device locale.
- Local Radius Filter: Choose from a selection of local ranges to focus on what’s nearby.
- Distance Badge: Each tower card shows the estimated distance at a glance.
🔒 Privacy & Local Storage
- Privacy First: All your mast names and signal history are stored locally on your device. No data ever leaves your phone unless you choose to export and share it yourself.
- Enable to Start Logging: You MUST enable Mast Names in the app settings to begin naming towers and recording strongest signal history. Background logging is only active when the feature is enabled.
